That might make a point if it were not for the fact that the connection between Ring Around the Roses & the Plague is nothing but a piece of romantic C19 fakelore — "one of those tiresome pieces of folklore about folklore", as the great Peter Opie once described it to me. We recently had a thread about it; for heavens sake don't start it all up again.
