I didn't. All of the girls I ever dated wore frilly dresses and lived next door. There were a lot of people who lived right next door, since out lot was a a polygon with so many sides that most people thought it was a circle. And every lot around us was someone's home -- to get to and from our house we had to do one of those things where a car starts driving real fast and uses a ramp to jump over something. Of course, when we walked we just bounced off an angled trampoline. Trick or treating was a snap, however.
