Does anyone recognise " Jack Atky and all " as a phrase from a song about the Spanish Civil War. I last night performed a song of my own about the men from Hull who went to fight in the Spanish Civil War and a relative of Hull volunteer Jack Atkinson was in the audience.She told me that she she once caught the tale end of a television programme about the SCW in which a Geordie sounding group were singing a song with this phrase in it. Her relative was nicknamed Jack Atky so almost certainly the song referred to him. I know that, years ago, the old Granada TV company broadcast a series on the SCW . Does anyone have the full lyrics to the song , a recording of it, or any scrap of information about the song? If anyone had a recording of the Granada SCW programmes that I could get a copy of, that would be a joy.
