'Every Little Girl' was written by a Great Uncle of mine who lived in Neath, South Wales - Harry Parr Davies. He was Gracie Fields' pianist and wrote a number of her 'big hits', including 'Wish me Luck as You Wave Me Goddbye'' He also wrote 'Pedro The fisherman' and 'There'll Always Be An England'. My Grandfather was a cousin of his (his name was Frank Horace Parr and was born in Briton Ferry in circa 1908 (and died in 1975).
He also wrote for Jack Buchanan and Anna Neagle among others.
Sadly Harry Parr Davies developed a serious drink problem which was the cause of his early demise, much to the shame of my family at the time apparently. During his career he rubbed shoulders with the Hoolywood set, there being numerous photos of him with the stars of the day.
