Thread Name: Origins: She Moves through the Fair
Subject: Lyr Add: SHE MOVES THROUGH THE FAIR (parody)
I don't know the parody "She Fell Through the Flare", but here's Les Barker's take on the song.

SHE MOVES THROUGH THE FAIR

(Les Barker)

My young love said to me, "My mother won't mind,
And my father won't slight you for your lack of kind."
Then she put her arms around me and this she did say,
"It will not be long, love, till our wedding day."

She stepped away from me, and she moved through the fair,
She won some old goldfish and one teddy bear.
Then she made her way homeward, with one star awake,
It was too dark to see, and she fell in the lake.

Last night she came to me, my wet love came on.
And sadly she told me that Teddy had gone.
The she put her arms around me, and this she did say.
"It's goldfish and chips for your dinner today."
