I went to a Plygain carol service last year - amazing. Dunno where you're based, Artful Codger, but if you ever have the chance to experience the carols live I would highly recommend it. The harmonies are hair-raising, and the small groups of friends or family who get up to sing their songs are all so different. Above all, it's very much a community event. A unique and lovely experience all round.
