If you want to hear Joni M singing clear as a bell, with melodies to die for and lyrics that are genuinely poetic, ignore Big Yellow T (juvenilia by her standards) and seek out 'Free Man In Paris', 'Edith and the Kingpin', 'Coyote' or 'In France They Kiss on Main Street'.

And while you're at it, listen to some Laura Nyro too - though she doesn't belong in this thread at ALL.
