I just heard about Jean's stroke. I want to send my prayers, love and healing thoughts to Jean, whom I have had the privilege to know since 1975 or 1976. To George, Jon and Peter, also my prayers, love and supportive thoughts. Jean gave me the most exquisite comments about her music for Discovering Folk Music and every time I read it, I can just hear her voice saying it. A photo of Jean is also in the book, standing in a quiet a cappella pose. It means the world to me that I can call the Ritchie/Pickow family friends. And I wish only the quickest, fullest recovery for Jean. She is a national, no -- international, treasure and ambassador of American folk.
