It also seems to stabilize the dobro and keep it from swinging in/out as he played, because he could adjust the tension on the strap with his right arm. He also had a slotted headstock, and used a piece of leather shoe lace to fasten the strap to the headstock. Also, have you looked at Elderly for a dobro strap? Between them Elderly and Lark (in the Morning) have almost everything anyone could want.
