I have just had it confirmed that Bob Gilroy, a popular figure on the North East folk scene over the last forty years passed away yesterday. Bob the Gob was chairman of South tyne Folk and Blues throughout it's existance and more recently he was regarded as a national treasure at The South Shields Folk Club.
