Ragdall, are you going to support those closet shelves, or is there a brace that doesn't show? I used some of those closet pole supports (image) screwed into a stud to reinforce shelves I built in an office closet. They make these without the hook on the end also.

They are beautiful shelves, and that's a great little box! Last year I saw some shelves built by a neighbor that also uses multiple smaller planks instead of one large board, and gave me an idea. The project of his I want to duplicate is to use 2" cedar fur strips, mounted side-by-side so the narrow side is up, placed into a potting table for the gardening cart I want to build for myself. I also have an old kitchen sink to use in said cart (so dirt can be pushed through the drain into a bucket below, etc). I haven't built anything for a while, though I do always enjoy the process. I built a large set of shelves for my daughter shortly after we moved in here, though it took quite a while.

I finally got back to finishing this post, and in the meantime I took a photo of that shelf I built.

What else have you built?
