I came across a CD by the Fureys which featured a song of mine called 'Hush Hush'. The liner notes said the song was about the English army destroying the Irish population and forcing them to emigrate. The Fureys substituted words in my lyrics to substantiate their point of view whereas the original song was about the Highland Clearances in Scotland where the people were chased out by the landords helped by Scottish agents or factors.
