Judy...tsk,,I hope that Netscape is not that different for MAC....(you DO have version 4?...those bars shouls BE there!)

for simple and total ease in picture viewing, ACDSee wins hands down! It is NOT for manipulating or decoding...just quick viewing and slideshows, etc...that allows it to be small & fast
http://www.acdsystems.com

for 'messing' with images, LviewPro, CompuPic, and PaintShop Pro, with the latter doing almost as much as Adobe PhotoShop...(I use a 16 bit shareware version that is just 'out there' as an old version left up as 'bait' to get you to buy the new one.) I think CompuPic is the best compromise if you are only going to have one--it will read, decode, make thumbnails, show slides....and dozens of other tricks...but it comes in a limited time demo form, like it, you buy it...( I bought it after about 3 days!)

and yes, ThumbsPlus is also very nice..( I really like trying them all...I am fascinated by the programs that are available to help us play and work in this wonderful new world...chasing them down has become a real hobby..)
