Celtic Connections kicks off in a few days. Celtic Music Radio will be there, broadcasting around 10 hours of live coverage each day.

If you're visiting the festival, please come and visit us, and say "hello". We're going to be broadcasting from the Exhibition Hall in Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.

Our broadcast schedules are now on our website.

Our festival coverage starts on Thursday, when we'll be live from 4pm-7pm, covering the torchlit parade and opening ceremony. After that, the typical weekday schedule is:

(all UK time)
06:00-11:00: from the studio - "Celtic Dawn", then the Celtic Breakfast, with Alex Jenkins and Ross Macfadyen.

At 11.00, we transfer to the outside broadcast studio in the concert hall.

11:00-12:30: Mark Sheridan, with news, reviews, previews, interviews and music.

12:30-13:30: Iain Anderson in Conversation. Iain, of BBC fame, hosts a "chat show" in front of a live audience, with guests from the world of music, culture, politics and journalism. Full details of the guestlist are on the website.

13:30-17:00: Gordon Hotchkiss hosts a show with music, interviews and some live sessions from festival performers.

17:00-19:00: The Danny Kyle Open Stage. 5 new unsigned performers and bands each night, competing for fame, fortune and a big-stage support gig next year... Hosted by Liz Clark, commentary by our regular pundits, Bill Morris & Ken MacDonald & friends.

The Open Stage is good fun - and it's free entry!

After the open stage, it's back to the studio for an hour or so, before we go live to another festival venue. We're planning to broadcast coverage of the "Songs of Scotland" series from the Universal club in Sauchiehall Lane, and "Ceol's Craic" from the CCA.

We're broadcasting 24x7 - overnight, we'll be playing highlights of the day's broadcasts.

At weekends, we'll be covering the Dannys, Songs of Scotland and Ceol's Craic, and also the "New Voices" concerts.

You can hear us on 1530 kHz around Glasgow, or online at http://www.celticmusicradio.net/ , where you can also find full schedules.

Bruce.
