Checking the phone book here (ie southern Scotland)there are far more Stewarts than Stuarts but there are some with the spelling Stuart. Stuart certainly isn't wrong as the Scottish royal family had already chose to change to that spelling prior to taking over the English throne and it has been in use for not so far off 500 years now! Charles Edward's name was surely Stuart!
