Subject: RE: Anyone heard of Celtas Cortos?
Yes, in effect they are a spanish musical group created in 1984 at the city named Pucela. The leader of this group, called Nacho Castro, took the name from a brand of spanish tobacco, very popular here by that time... "Cortos" means Shorts ones and it makes reference to the ausence of filter that make such cigarettes shorter than others with. The first LP records of this group were purely instrumentals, but later they introduced vocals and lyrics with a high social concerns and very funny histories too! They also play "Celtic" style music and others styles. Recently, they released two new CD to the market, called "Tranquilo majete" (Keep cool good fellow) and "Nos vemos en los bares" (See us on the taberns), the last one recorded live at Madrid. You can find more information and perhaps links at the following sites: "http://www.combios.net/senyas/musica.htm" and "http://www.abdn.ac.uk/~u17sc/pagi.html" Good luck!
