Since the population is largely Catholic (according to reports), bubbly, IMO it IS a relevant question-- for me, just on the basis of practicality. With experience both in Red Cross and our denomination's Episcopal Relief and Development (ARC and ERD), and with our good diocesan history of helping with disasters--- if we want to send $$ quickest we'll need to know to whom to send it, all other charity considerations aside. This disaster is just so huge that frankly, at the moment, I do not know where it's best for me to send what I can, even tho I know so much about disaster relief-- because the tech revolution since I was with ARC has changed so many things.

That's why, BTW, this is a PRAYER AND GOOD THOUGHTS request and not an offer to debate religion or specific charities-- but just a request for prayer and good thoughts-- people can and will decide for themselves (me included, no worries) what to do about aid.
