Contrary to the beliefs of the "conservatives" the government of the US needs to be managed. Money needs to be spent wisely, where it does the most good. To placate the Republicans Obama would have to cut or eliminate all social spending and only then would they be placated if they got all the credit.

It is not Republican or Democrat to try to spend wisely and cut waste.

Obama is simply trying to do his job.
