Bill, where are you? I have an overgrown lilac hedge that needs serious cutting. Every year I deeply regret sending that gorgeous old wood to the city compost heap. Some is 2-4 inch diameter, with that beautiful purple grain. My kids think I'm just a crazy old lady, trying to save my trash, but I haven't found a local wood turner or carver for it. I'm in southern NH.
