Thread Name: Sorghum Sue Query
Subject: Sorghum Sue Query
My late uncle Buddy McNeeley, the songwriter in the family till I came along, had a song on a home recording that I'd like to learn, but I can't tell if it's his or an old country song. Does this sound like anything any of you have heard?

Chorus:

She's my darling and I love her and I'm always thinking of her,
And I know that she'll be true.
She's my pretty-as-a-daffodil, better-than-buttermilk,
Sweeter-than-sorghum Sue!

I have Googled the name and came up with nothing, so it's not a common song, for sure. But does it exist outside my uncle's songwriting imagination?

Thanks

Bob
