I have a friend in Toronto, who has a stroke a couple of years ago.
He was bad for about a week and then made basically a full recovery.
I remember him telling me many months later that he had short term memory loss, in that he lost recently learned songs and tunes (he plays concertina). Fortunately the old stuff stuck around.
