Mr Red, I wondered how long it would take you to notice this thread! Well put, I think. The way someone dresses is hardly a matter of great consequence (unless they're wearing a t-shirt that shows fascist sympathies, but that's another thread).

I have just looked at another thread started by #1, and I conclude he's definitely talking about a Stateside phenomenon.
