Wouldn't life be much easier if we got people to accept the mathematical exponent convention, 10e4 for 10000 and so on. We could leave off the 10, as it's always there, and refer to 1000000 as "eesix", 1000000000 as "eenine" and so forth. It also future- proofs us against inflation, it's much easier to talk about "eetwentyseven" than a million billion trillion.
