I don't know, Art. I've never tried to starve the big record companies by withholding my money from them; that would be like expecting McDonald's to go out of business because I buy my lunch at Joe's diner. I just buy what I like, and much of that happens to be on the small labels. The big labels will survive me, no doubt, and will flourish within their own sphere. But as long as I can continue to find, and purchase, the music I like, I'm happy. And as long as I can accept the fact that I'll never be as big as Madonna by playing acoustic music on self-produced recordings and for the few people who want to hear it, I'm happy with that, too.
