PENGUINS IMPLICATED IN GLOBAL WARMING

A team of hydro-geologists from the Netherlands published a short monograh this morning with their preliminary results of 5 years intensive study on penguins and their effects on the climate of Antarctica.

"There is no doubt" one scientist was quoted, "the presence of penguin breeding flocks raises the local temperatures significantly". The team has connected the presence of penguins with elevated local temperatures, increase in ice shelf calving; increased absorbtion of incoming solor radiation (due to staining of the ice with shed feathers and guano) as well as the body heat of brooding males.
