I don't know where it fits into the scheme of things, but I have a 78 record of "The Body in the Bag", recorded by a Stan Davis on Parlophone R567. I haven't got my 78 player connected up at the moment, but as I recall it was very American with a broadly similar story, excepting for public house becomes bar or something and he threw it into a park etc..
