Further to 'TSTMtS': I found this an intriguing song Leveller, when I (not a man!) learned it myself this Winter - don't think it matters too much the gender of who sings it, if we all know the character is a young bloke. What I personally like about it, is the cock-sure male youth trying to convince himself (or is it her?) that she'll be back, oh yes! From discussion on other threads, some (Malcolm Douglas I believe) have said that it was Anne Briggs who put the lament-like spin on the song (which endures to this day), while the original was much more jaunty.
