For someone who was in high school when Elvis first made noise, I was more concerned with the fact that girls were suddenly interested in guys with D.A.("duck's ass") haircuts, pompadours and Brylcreem sheen instead of conventional looking farm kids like me. But, truth to be told, I did take up the guitar. I wish I could say he had nothing to do with it, but by now I'm not even sure myself!

His early stuff ("Hound Dog," "Heartbreak Hotel," "Jailhouse Rock," etc.) was the best, I believe. I think it would have been interesting to see how his career might have developed had he not "gone Vegas."
