There seems to be a misunderstanding here - I was not actually selling the item via Mudcat but merely pointing out that it was for sale on Ebay and that festival-goers may be interested. There was never any intention that " ...a good deal could be struck between him and another fellow genuine folkie festival-goer ..." - in fact this would be against the Ebay rules, which explicitly prohibit "Cancelling bids and ending a listing early in order to sell the item off-eBay. You should be aware that as well as avoiding fees, you risk fraud by selling items off the eBay website".
