Catherine, how are your knees holding up? I'm impressed, to go from crutches a few years ago to running marathons! You go, girl!

It's so tempting to play hooky today, the yard is as inviting as it has ever been, but we're at the end of the semester and have lots of things to document and report.

I see that Michelle's book is due to arrive in her post office box today. I found a copy of Mama Makes Up Her Mind and sent that (after it sat on my dining room table, probably kind of like Mama's table, for a while). If any of you remember hearing Bailey White commentaries on All Things Considered, you'll remember her almost elderly-sounding gentle witty southern drawl and her great stories about Mama. I'm not having luck getting her audio to load from the NPR site, and apparently if you follow links you have to enter the date and year of the recording and find the title on the page. Maybe I need to switch browsers. Here is more about her. The embodiment of the place in which she grew up and still lives, and an inspiration to us all.
