That's good to hear. I was also wondering whether Lancashire towns or villages have wakes weeks and May Queen carnivals.
When Horwich closed for a wakes week in the '50s, virtually the whole town would go on holiday to Blackpool - you might even find yourself in a boarding house next to a boarding house where your next-door neighbours were staying!
