Everyone thinks that Maeve is such a sensible, gentle soul. Her eyes turned to flint when I suggested at the last house concert that I might re-gift her new home with some "pieces". No way I was going to cross her.

No nuns or flamingoes or singing dancing menageries. I kept thinking of the Twilight Zone episode where the angry little boy "wished people into the corn field" and they were never seen again. Maeve had that look.
