Yip! Harald is right. It's only lilting or mouth music. Lilting is still a recognised art and there are lilting competitions to this day. It is most useful if you have no instruments to play as was the usual case in the bad days of old.

Dances were often held where mouth music was the only form of music out of neccessity.
