I knew and sang with the late Charles O'Hegarty for a long time. It was always my impression that "Body in the Bag" was an old Music Hall song that had been reworked by Charles. Jean Redpath learnt the song from Charles and I recorded it on a CD called "Songs of Exquisite Taste"
