Sonnet 17/11/00                                CDLXXX

In lilac scented smoke my muse reclines
As I ask questions, to determine how
I might encourage smiles. I seek for signs
To tell how I might capture dreams, for now.
In moonlight I might find within her eyes
More than reflections of my own desires:
To see past stars within some future skies,
And feel within my heart emotions fires.
Yet in soft flame, I might more meanings find
Within her look. I seek to center know,
That I might have some guide, and not be blind
To what I ask, and seek in verse to show.
I shall light candles to my muse, to seem
As stars around her haloed hair, and dream.
