I think about you, muse, but fear desire
Might color vision: Do I ask for more
From you than to future image inspire?
I dare not impact to my dreams ignore.
I cannot say my heart might not be found
To be under your power: I would lie
To say I would resent emotion. Bound
To Past, heart might yet hope to future tie.
Yet I dare not upon your smile impose,
Nor ask, unless you offer: You control
All save my dreams. Yes, I would that verse shows
Heart, but I care too much to ask for soul.
I care, and hope to hold you as a friend:
Yet pray my dreams do not my intent bend.
