Wow! Liz was up with a flourish today! Good work!

I stopped by a couple of garage sales this morning and did minimal shopping. I think I spent all of $4.70. I picked up two lazy susans for organizing the cupboard to the right of the sink that has medicine and vitamins. There was a vinyl covered wire rack in there, but it meant digging around still, so I'm going to see if I can set these lazy susans on two shelves and organize by type (though size would be easier, it would be less logical during a search).

I also picked up four sturdy unused thick plastic plates to add to my kitchen queen (also called a Hoosier Kitchen) collection of plates for when we have a lot of guests come over. I never have enough china, so I pull out all sorts of plastic plates. Last year I saw a Martha Stewart Living in which they had something like this set up on a sun porch for impromptu picnics. This tall cabinet is in the house, but still, with the napkins, paper and plastic cups, place mats, plastic cutlery, etc, it's all in one place, making set up easy.

I need to mow, I need to do laundry and hang out some to dry, and I need to keep an eye on one of the dogs who is limping and not putting one back foot down. No blood or bones apparently broken, so I'm not racing to the vet with her until I've had a couple of days to observe. I'd be willing to bet Poppy (the catahoula) was trying to jump over something and pulled a muscle or twisted something and it will heal on it's own without the pain of a several hundred dollar vet bill. If she seems to get worse, or not improve after the weekend, then I'll take her in.

It's finally hot and muggy enough here to turn on the air conditioning. I was really hoping I could get through May before I had to do that. I'll wait till the weekend at least--I'm here on my own this afternoon and I don't complain like the son does (he also doesn't pay the electric bill).

The kitchen is looking pretty good. I've been drying oregano, and this evening I need to check out some that I put in the freezer a few days ago. A woman at the garden center said that's how she dries hers. I wonder if this is how she does it? I spread it out on a plastic tray and popped it, uncovered, into the big freezer.
