The story of John Hall is quite an interesting one. Apparently, he and his ex-wife Johanna were quite prolific songwriters. The 2004 George Bush campaign used their "You're Still the One" without permission and the 2008 John McCain campaign did the same.
John Hall was elected to Congress from the State of New York in 2006, and re-elected in 2008.
I didn't find out much about Johanna Hall, except that she and John were divorced in 2000. Oh, but then I found her Myspage Page, with a lengthy biography and a recording of another Hall hit, "Dance With Me."
I've always had some trouble with this song, "Power," because I think that if designed and managed properly, nuclear power could be one of our safest sources of energy. I don't agree with absolutist declarations that nuclear power is always evil and dangerous.
