YEah, but lamps are lumpy. These ceiling lights look cools nestled into the overhead and shine softly down on same really lovely ancient mineral samples we have on the mantle piece. Which in turn is a lovely piece of oiled jojoba wood, tight grained and sweet.

Besides, the extensions cords for those lamps would look silly.
