MaryMac...I MUCH prefer separate email & browser programs...and a separate reader for newsgroups too, if you ever do that. I had AOL for my kid for several years...just because kids want AOL..*sigh*..it was in MY name, but I NEVER used it. There are free email, newsreader and browser programs that are many times superior to AOL's interface and intrusiveness. I use Eudora for mail, Netscape as browser and either Agent or X-News for newsreader, but there are several others which are fine.

In fact 'almost' anything you need can be done for free, clever programs, internet access...etc...check this link for Pricelessware...the BEST in freeware
