Pondering a development. I added a friend to my family cell phone plan because he needed a reliable phone. Years ago he dropped his cell phone because a young man who lived with he and his late partner, kind of an unofficially adopted son, had used his phone so much that he ended up wasting all of his minutes telling the young man's friends who called that it was his phone. He's had financial problems, and the young man keeps bringing in friends who are down and out, and they are a huge drain on my friend's ability to pay bills, etc.

I told him the phone was for him alone, not to let the young guy use it, and it has been that way for more than a year. But I called my friend today and the young guy, who is at his few hours a week job, had the phone. And the house phone is out because the bill didn't get paid.

My friend hasn't managed to lower to boom on these kids. Young adults, with no impulse to do for themselves. I need to make it clear that I won't let their slumming leech into my home by that phone being in the wrong hands. If this young man, who has been in trouble with the law, calls people who don't have that number programmed in their phones, MY NAME shows up on caller ID. It is for all intents and purposes my phone. I want my friend to have it, and I want these young slugs to stop taking advantage of him.

My friend has other friends who have tried to influence the course of behavior there, and just caused bad blood.
