"Lite", huh? sounds like that might be Canuckese for "window sash".
The scissors jack for my old Toyota Carolla had a big old screw with threads that looked just like vise threads. Plenty strong enough to hold up a corner of the car while I worked on the strut a bit. Just at the second I slid out from under there, the threads totally peeled like butter. It took a lot longer for me to stop shaking than it took the car to come down. I got away with only an honorary Darwin Award that time.
