Preliminary research indicates this interesting option never did occur in the legendary Ryder's various fictional constructions, but there is a mystery left untouched herein, because the connection is so obvious, and so timely. The cultural expression of Red Rover was at its peak of popular usage at exactly the same period that the iconic Ryder reached his, and it is hard to accept the explanation that his writers ignored the opportunity for such a deep-seated cultural linkage merely out of tin-ear dull-wittedness.
