Don't own any sneakers. Not since school days.

Usually wear moccasins, I have several pairs; lined with fleece for winter, some with 'rubber' soles for wet weather. Lands End has good quality; Canada adds 18% duty but still cheaper than equivalents made in Canada (my most recent pair, bison leather, rubber sole over bison, $60 before duty).

Canada has "Loonie" stores. The dollar equivalent has a loon on one side and queen Liz on the other. Most things cost a "Toonie"- a $2 dollar coin with a polar bear one side and Liz the other.

The stores are good for odds and ends such as bags with Xmas and other designs. We got tired of wrapping gifts and the bags can be used by the recipient the following year.
