Sawz, the multinational corporations and right-wing billionaires back Republicans (and "corporatist" Democrats) far more than they do liberals or the Democratic Party, maybe not so much by way of direct campaign contributions (they do want to be on good terms with whichever legislators get elected, after all) but by way of funding radio & TV shows like Limbaugh, Hannity, & other right-wing talk (even when & where such shows lose money), by funding "conservative" think tanks, and by way of ownership of radio & TV stations & newspapers and censoring what they allow their "news" shows to disclose or investigate.
There is really no secret that most large corporations prefer the Republicans to be in power and prefer the "blue-dog Democrats" to progressives or those who support organized labor or the average citizen.   Democrats, at least the centrist and liberal ones, are less likely to skew legislation in favor of individuals or labor; Republicans and other corporatists tend to favor huge tax cuts for big business & the rich, lax or nonexistent regulation of industry for any reason, etc.   And they make that clear by way of how they spend their money to influence politics.
