I was playing a benefit in Centralia Washington last weekend with Brendan Phillips(Utah's son), and Linda Allen. Not a great turnout, but as I was closing the show with Utah's I REMEMBER LOVING YOU you could hear the whistle of a freight train on the tracks a block away from the theater. Perfect timing, just as I was singing the line, "as we huddled in a boxcar in the rain..".

When I lived in Wichita Kansas in the late '70s', the local venue, The Forum, was located in an old bank building. It was a miniature copy of the Flatiron Building in NYC, right next to the RR tracks, and the stage was at the wide end of the room.   If you knew the Amtrak schedule you could be singing "Let the Midnight Special shine it's everloving light on me" as the southbound Southwest Chief went rolling through, with its headlight illuminating your performance.
