All my best answers have been taken. Cell hones, kids with beepers so their mom's can beep them and tell them to get home, car alarms, pollution.....
But then car alarms remind me of highland pipes and we could do without them ;-) And I could live quite happily without ever hearing Danny Boy or the Unicorn!
