What I am sure of is that they would vigorously resist a military attack on their nation by any other nation. They vigorously resisted a far better-armed Iraq in the 80s. Remember? The West was arming Iraq with high tech weapons, and expected a decisive Iranian defeat in that war, but didn't get it.
