Me either, Bill.
I don't think she was really aware I was doing anything at the time, except maybe just about the point where I was finished. She had a boyfriend at that time (a good friend of mine and a hell of a nice person) and he was sort of attending on her, talking about what had happened, and she was mainly concentrating on her hurt foot. I was sitting about 8 or 10 feet away, quietly focusing on her, but unobtrusively, if you understand. I don't think he noticed at all what I was doing, but she did, I guess just toward the end.
Anyway, a couple of days later I went to a meeting, she was there, and she rushed over, gave me a big hug and thanked me. One of the best moments I can recall. ;-) I was stone cold crazy about that girl, but we were never a couple. We remain friends to this day.
Maybe it's true, Bill, that "love conquers all". ;-) I sure hope so.
