I hope it is true that you are in no danger from the fires. Here we wore particulate masks to protect lungs from ash when fires were near.
These masks are available at hardware stores in the paint dept.

the fire nearest where I live is called the "Caribou complex" several
fires burning. (wonder if there is any connection between the Caribou here and the Cariboo there...both were active gold mining areas.)
